How does Talescroll work?

Open a new book in your library, tap the record button, and read aloud. Talescroll listens, follows the story, and draws illustrations of what is happening as you read. Talescroll is a family app: read together with your child, or let your child read on their own.

What is an illustration?

Each picture Talescroll draws uses one illustration from your balance. Your plan gives you a number of illustrations every month. You can see how many are left in the Library menu.

Do unused illustrations carry over?

No. Your balance is refilled each month to your plan’s amount. Unused illustrations do not carry over and end when the subscription ends.

How do I change my plan?

Open Subscription in the Library menu and pick a bigger plan. You get the new plan’s full monthly amount right away, and Apple adjusts the price.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone or iPad open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Talescroll and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel it.

Can I get a refund?

Payments are handled by Apple, so refunds are too. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I bought a subscription but don’t see it

Open Subscription in the Library menu and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple ID you bought it with.

Talescroll doesn’t hear me

Check that Talescroll may use the microphone: Settings → Talescroll → Microphone. Read clearly, close to the device, in a quiet room, and make sure the book’s language is set correctly in the Library menu.

An illustration doesn’t match the story

Illustrations are drawn by artificial intelligence, so sometimes they get details wrong or a character looks different from one picture to the next. Keep reading: the story and the characters become clearer as more of the book is read. If you see something inappropriate, write to us.

Is my child’s voice recorded?

No. The sound is turned into text while you read and is never stored. See our Privacy Policy.

How do I sign out or delete my account?

Both are at the bottom of the Library menu. Deleting your account removes your name, email, and library, and cannot be undone. Signing in again afterwards starts a new, empty account.
